In my "first life" as I like to call it, before I found fitness, I was the laziest person I knew!. Full of excuses not to move, let alone exercise. I was a yo-yo "dieter" having tried every "diet" and quick fix going.I had a toxic, emotional relationship with food, a secret eater and often ate to excess, never really letting myself feel hungry.
I struggled with everyday tasks such as getting out of the bath, climbing stairs, my stomach touched the steering wheel when driving, getting in and out of the car was also a struggle.
On Mothers Day 2018, my Mum sadly passed away from complications of lifestyle diseases, Type 2 Diabetes & Heart Disease just two and also suffered with Anxiety & Depression. Mum said to me one day "don't get like me". Those words became my driving force a couple of months later to change my own lifestyle in order to help to protect my future health.
May 2018, I found myself a local Personal Trainer. I felt nervous that first day, not knowing what to expect. I never looked back and it's the best thing I have ever done. The physical and mental health benefits are too many to mention. I was the last person you would think of to get into fitness in this way. Fast forward 8 months later, through Strength & Conditioning training and a change of Nutrition with Private Personal Training I lost 5 stone, then onto 5.5 stone yet I gained so much more...fitness, strength and good mental health.
I loved what I was doing so much I trained to become a Level 3 Personal Trainer & Nutrition Adviser because I want to pass this feeling of health and fitness onto you because I know that everyone is capable. Health is your wealth...the changes in the aesthetics are the cherry on top of the fitness cake. It's never too late to make a change.
